Parents and students,

For a limited time only you may enjoy reading some free e-books from the Capstone Co. There are 456 titles from which to choose. There are several for younger children, so I plan on letting my own son take advantage of this until it ends. To me, it seems most of the 456 selected titles are geared toward boys. Enjoy!

Battle of the Books - This year, there will be ten books on each grade's list. More info. to come. Be thinking about creating teams, etc.

Extended Library Hours

The library will now be open late each evening, Mondays-Thursdays. Students are encouraged to stop by to get help with their homework, check in/out books, work on research projects, or participate in our book club, which will hopefully be starting soon.

Transportation is not provided so, in order to stay, students must pre-arrange their visit by having a parent call or email the librarian. Students' rides must also be here by 4:30 each afternoon.

There is no charge to the student/parent for this service.

Looking for Friends...

Henry Ford once said, "My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me." Bringing out the best in our school library takes many friends, people just like you who value the library and the need it fulfills in our school.

For a donation of $10 per member (or $25 for a family membership) you can help enrich the library experience for out students. Your membership makes it possible for us to add even more materials to the collection and it supports many of our annual events.

Each member's name will be added to a roster visible on our library's website. In addition, each student who becomes a friend (even through a family membership) will have his or her picture taken for our local paper, the Observer.

If you wish to become a member please stop by the library or give Ms. Creasy a call. Membership forms will also be sent home soon, so be on the lookout.

Welcome back, everyone! Today, we begin the journey of another fabulous school year and I can't think of a better middle school at which to spend it.

This year our library will continue to host those annual reading programs you've come to expect, such as the book fair, Nashville Sounds Reading Contest, and the Battle of the Books while, hopefully, introducing new ones, too. Sometime soon, a flier/brochure outlining these programs, as well as library rules and guidelines, will be sent home with students. Parents, please take a moment to look over it. If you should ever have any questions or concerns with an issue regarding the library please do not hesitate to call the school and ask to speak with the librarian, Ms. Creasy.

In celebration of National Library Week, the library has been hosting a Guess that Book contest. Each day of the week a new series of pictures has been posted throughout the school. The pictures are clues to the identity of a book title. For every correctly guessed title students' names have been entered into a drawing for a prize. Our winner will be announced on Tuesday. Read!!!

Your goal is to read and fill out a book slip on three books. For each book read you will earn the following prizes...

1st book = FREE FRIES at Hardees and an Ozzie bookmark.

2nd book = a FREE TICKET to the April 23 game.

3rd book = Entry tickets for the chance to win a VIP Experience and other PRIZES to be given away at the game.

YOU MUST FILL OUT A BOOK SLUP FOR EACH BOOK READ. THESE SLIPS CAN BE FOUND IN THE LIBRARY. THEY SHOULD BE TURNED IN TO MS. CREASY. THE LAST DAY TO TURN IN A SLIP FOR THE FREE SOUNDS GAME TICKET IS MONDAY, APRIL 4. You may turn in the final book slip any time prior to Friday, April 22.

No School, No Fine!

We've had a few students ask if fines are charged for overdue books on days we are out for snow. The answer, of course, is no. The computer's date due calendar is always adjusted to allow for these.

Some have asked if fines are charged when books are overdue because of a student's absence. In that case, it depends. Each overdue book is granted a grace period of 3 days before fines begin accruing. That typically gives everyone enough time in which to return a book. Make sure if you are out for an extended period your books are returned by mom or dad as soon as possible. If there are extenuating circumstances please stop by and speak with the librarian.

Remember, if you owe a fine of more than $1 or have out an overdue book your library privileges are suspended until you take care of this.

Our school's celebration of Teen Read Week was a great success.

Everyone who participated in the scavenger hunt was able to choose a free gift from the library and three people went home with a little more change in their pockets. Congratulations to Haley Brazel, Jesse Hovater and John Allen Wright for being the winning entries in the hunt!

Students also had a chance to participate in an art contest, in which they would recreate the cover of a favorite book. Congratulations to Gordon, Abbey, Alyson and Bryan for their awesome artwork! Their entries were selected as the four winners. However, all creations entered were really, really good.

As you may know, the library stays open late each day Monday - Thursday and students are always welcome to stop by for help on homework, research, etc. During TRW, each student who came was entered into a drawing for prizes. Those winning something for this were Randy Barlow, Destynie Henry, Anna Cook, Katie Young, Emily Thomas, Peightyn Gross, Gracie Oliver and Morgan Hall.

The library would like to thank everyone who particpated. We're already getting excited about next year.

Scavenger Hunt

When?
October 18 – 22, 2010

Who?
Any student at Westmoreland Middle that chooses to participate

Why?
To celebrate Teen Read Week and have some fun!!!

How?
You will be given a list of items to find and will have a few days in which to find them.
You may go it alone or partner up and form a team.

Everyone who participates and turns in at least 8 items on the list will be entered into a drawing for an individual prize.

The person or team who is the first to turn in all items on the list will win the grand prize of $25. If you are a team you will, of course, have to share the prize.

You should not go out into neighborhoods unaccompanied. Make sure you have a parent with you.

You may not buy (or allow your parents to buy) or steal items. That would be cheating. You should either ask for them or find items that are free, such as things you would find in nature. If you cheat it will take the fun out of it and you will not feel good about yourself.

Where?
The hunting may be done wherever your parent(s) chooses. The turn-in spot is our school library beginning Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 7:30 a.m.

Come and SIT a while with Ms. Creasy. Free afternoon tutoring is available in the library. If interested, parents should call and schedule a session. Currently, these sessions are limited. Beginning on October 11 tutoring will be held each Monday-Thursday from 3:00 - 4:30.

Students may bring a snack with them to tutoring. Bottled water is also allowed.

Welcome back to another great year at Westmoreland Middle School. We look forward to seeing you in the library many times throughout the year.

Going home with students on Thursday or Friday, August 12 or 13 is a welcome brochure packed full of all kinds of useful information about our library, as well as a form for those wanting to become a Friend of the Library. Parents, if you do not receive one please just call and I'll be happy to send another home.

All library books, except those being read for Battle of the Books, are now due. All fines and fees need to be paid prior to Field Day - Friday, May 21.

Please check for your name on the library poster in South Wing lobby or the one outside the library.

Students who are reading a book for Battle of the Books will need to make sure it is returned by the day of the battle - Wednesday, May 19.

This year's Battle of the Books will be held on May 19, 2010. This will, again, take place in the library. Teachers are choosing their teams as I type. Parents, please accept this as your invitation to attend. Exact times will be announced in the very near future.

Due to all the snow days we had, longer spring break, TCAP prep time that could not be intruded upon, and some other unforeseen circumstances we have been left with precious little time for this year's event. Our shortened lists reflect this.

National T.V. Turnoff Week

Ms. Creasy's little boy putting on his best sad face at the prospect of a week without t.v.

This week, April 19 - 25, TV Turnoff Network is hosting National TV Turnoff Week.

One of the main goals of the program is to show parents and children that watching television doesn't have to be a daily activity (or as it is in the case of some families an all day and night activity).

Why limit your screen time? Well, you can become be more physically fit. And doesn't everyone want to look great? Also, you'll have more time to do things that will make you smarter and your grades will improve. And another thing, research shows that by not watching so much t.v. you'll actually be in a better mood more often and end up being a nicer person. So,

1. Better body

2. Better grades

3. More friends because you have become just so darn nice

Wouldn't it be worth giving up a little t.v. for these things?

Are YOU up to the challenge (albeit I am two days late with this announcement)? Can you make it through the rest of the week with no television? What are some things you could do instead of watching the tube?

How about...

1. Put together a puzzle.
2. Visit the library. Borrow a book. Attend library activities.
3. Go skateboarding, roller skating, or ice skating.
4. Listen to the radio.
5. Visit the zoo.
6. Paint a picture, a mural or a room.
7. Find out about your area's community center or park's activities.
8. Read a book aloud to your younger sister/brother.
9. Volunteer for a community organization or charity or help an elderly relative or neighbor by doing some house or lawn work .
10. Play with your pet.
11. Write a letter to a friend or relative.
12. Start a neighborhood basketball, soccer, or kickball game.

13. Go through your closets and clothes. Donate surplus items to Goodwill, the Salvation Army or a local rummage sale.
14. Start a diary/journal.
15. Go to a museum.
16. Play cards.
17. Make up a story and write it down.
18. Ask an older family member to tell you a story about his or her childhood. Write about it.
19. Learn some new riddles or jokes.
20. HAVE A PARTY TO CELEBRATE A TV-FREE WEEK.

Our yearly reading program sponsored by the Nashville Sounds has officially ended. I say officially because it is now too late to earn a free ticket to the game. However, I will continue to give away the other coupons to whomever wishes to continue reading and filling out book slips.

This year was our best yet for participation in the program with 44 students earning free tickets. Way to go!!!

School Library Month T-shirts

The library is offering for sale a really cool t-shirt in honor of School Library Month which is coming up this April.

T-shirts are $12.00 each and come in children and adult sizes, as well as color choices of Chocolate Brown, Kiwi, or Indigo Blue. Please add $3 if ordering a 2x or 3x size.

The shirts are made of quality pre-shrunk cotton and go along with the Where the Wild Things Are book/movie theme which is very popular now. The chocolate brown shirt is super cool with great contrast and my personal favorite (in the event the company will only allow one color this is the one that will be ordered).

Order forms are being sent home with 6th grade students. If you do not receive one please call and we'll be sure to send one home to you.

Be sure to order one to show your support for reading and our library.

Proceeds will go to buy more books.

Our Nashville Sounds Reading Club will run from Friday, February 26 through Friday, March 26. Specific details about the program are below. We encourage all our students to participate in this event.

How It Works

Students should read two grade-level chapter books of their choice over the 4 week period. Upon reading each book they should fill out a book slip (these can be found in the library). The book slip will require some information about the book such as title, author's name, # of pages, and a short summary.

Welcome back. I trust everyone had a fabulous Christmas and enjoyed the bonus vacation days we received due to that little snowfall. Believe it or not there are still patches of snow to be found around the school.

As we head into this second semester be sure to check back often for information about upcoming events such as the Nashville Sounds Reading Club and the annual Battle of the Books.

Also, keep in mind that tutoring is still offered in the library each afternoon (except Friday). Students staying should be picked up outside the main entrance by 4:30 p.m.

Living Literature Takes Top Prize at State Convention

It's Book Fair Time Again

Our 2009 Book Fair will be held Dec. 2 - 9. For your convenience we will be hosting two family nights again this year on Dec. 7 and 9. The library will stay open until 6:30 p.m. on these two evenings.

Each student attending (or represented by a family member attending) will be entered into a drawing for some really great prizes.

There will be lots of great books and items on this year's fair - including New Moon posters, a new New Moon book with the movie tie-in cover, and the new Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Dog Days.

Wizard of Oz turns 70

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the release of the beloved movie "The Wizard of Oz". This cinematic classic is based on the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz written by L. Frank Baum which was first published in September 1900.

The book has been reprinted countless times and spawned 13 sequels about Dorothy Gale and her friends.

Some people over the years have questioned the motive behind the book alleging that it is allegorical of the economic times in which Baum lived. Baum, however, always maintained he wrote it for the entertainment of children.

Finally, whenever movies are based on books some parts of the story change. Be sure to stop by the library to check out one of our copies of the book and see the differences for yourself.

The Junior Service League of Gallatin is sponsoring a literacy event on Saturday, September 26 9 AM - Noon at the Gallatin Public Library. This event will put children's literacy center-stage and offer preschoolers and elementary-aged kids a chance to experience literature in a circus setting. The carnival atmosphere will include games, face painting, treats, story times, bounce houses, prizes, and more. Admission is free.

TRAILS Information Literacy Screenings

This first full week of school has been a very busy time in the library as students have been participating in TRAILS...tools for real-time assessment of information literacy skills. By week's end each of our reading classes will have been able to visit the computer lab to take this on-line test (Ms. Goad has had to reschedule classes due to computer glitches on her day to come).

Welcome back! We look forward to another great school year here at W.M.S., especially in the library. We already have some new books on display just waiting to be read. For those new to our school, or those just needing a refresher course on how we do things, the following information should be useful.

Guidelines
for
Checking Out a Book

Students may have two books checked out at a time.

Books are issued to students for two weeks. At the end of the two week period a book may be renewed for an additional two weeks. The student must have the book in his or her possession at the time they wish to renew.

There is a ten-cents-per-day fine for overdue books. A 3-day grace period is allowed in which a student may return a late book without penalty.

Students may not check out additional items should they have a book that is overdue or owe a fine in excess of $1.00

Students are financially responsible for the replacement costs of books that are lost and/or damaged to the extent they can no longer be circulated.

Living Literature Team Places First at Nationals...Again!

Congratulations to the members of our Jr. Beta Club Living Literature team for placing first at the National Convention held June 13-16 in Orlando, Florida. Members of the team included Austyn Carter, Ren Creasy, TJ Johnson, Logan Troutt, Morgan Byrd, Clint Watson and Brandon Hudson. Staffulty members assisting in the project included Tim Copeland, David Custer, Rhonda Custer, Susan Raby, and Tyla Creasy.

The team presented a scene from the book The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick.

After a first place finish at the state convention our team was invited to compete at the national convention. To be invited to participate at the national level a team must place in the top three at the state level.

This year marks our school's second year as a participant in this competition. Last year our team placed third at the state level and then first at nationals depicting a scene from the book The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo.

On a side note...the school was also well represented in other competitions as well. Michael Byrd finished 5th in the national spelling competition, Lexi Leath's wreath captured second place, and our t-shirt and scrapbook took second in their categories, as well. Congratulations to all these deserving students.

2009 Summer Reading Program

5th and 6th grade students are invited to participate in the 2009 Summer Reading Program sponsored by Barnes and Noble Booksellers. Actually, the contest is open to students in grades 1-6, so if you have a younger brother or sister pass the invitation along to them.

To earn a free book you must simply read 8 books between now and the end of August. Keep track of the books you read on a reading record and return it to Barnes and Noble (in Hendersonville) by September 7 for a free book.

National Library Week

April 12 - 18 is National Library Week. To celebrate, we're sponsoring a little contest. Over the weekend students that wish to participate are being asked to write a list of as many movies featuring library scenes as they can. On a sheet of paper they should write the title of the movie along with a line or two describing the scene in which a library is featured. For instance, National Treasure features a scene in which Ben and Riley visit the Library of Congress to find books on the Declaration of Independence. These lists should be returned to Ms. Creasy in the library at some point on Monday, April 20. The student(s) with the longest list will win a nice bag of prizes.

Monthly Reminder of Fines and Overdues

Please be sure to check the lists (posted in both the north wing and south wing of the building) to see if you owe a fine or have out an overdue book. If so, please take care of this as soon as possible. Remember...you are financially responsible for your library books. If a book is lost or damaged to an extent it can no longer be shelved you will be charged the replacement value. Overdue books accrue at the rate of .10 cents per day after a 3-day grace period.

No doubt many girl fanpires here at WMS will be headed out tomorrow to buy their very own copy of Twilight. The DVD version based on the uber-poplular Stephenie Meyer novel goes on sale Saturday, March 21. But with some stores in our area staying open late and selling the movie beginning at midnight many 'tweens, teens, and, yes, even teachers will not have to wait even that long to get their Twilight fix. My own daughter currently has plans that include a late night trip down the road.

Some participating stores hosting events of which I'm aware include Walmart (naturally), Hot Topic (in the mall), and Borders Books (West End - Nashville).

Of course, if you've not read the books and want to see what the hullabaloo is all about you need to look no further than our library. Stop by and we'll be glad to check one of the books out to you.

Today marks the 105th birthday of Theodore Geisel, known more affectionately as Dr. Seuss. Each year the National Education Association (NEA) sponsors Read Across America to coincide with his birthday. According to the NEA website, "Read Across America is an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading on March 2".

I had the honor of visiting the elementary school in town (where I served as librarian for several years) today to read to Mrs. Tiffany Mapp's third grade class. I also bumped into Mrs. Gail Eller, another former librarian, on her way to read to a class, too.

I shared Bad Day at Riverbend and The Mysteries of Harris Burdick, both books by Chris Van Allsburg, with the students. Van Allsburg is an award winning author/illustrator. He has won the Caldecott Medal twice, once for Jumangi and again for The Polar Express.

Ms. Tanisha, thank you for the invitation to be a guest reader. And thank you, Mrs. Mapp's class, for being such good listeners. Your bookmarks are on their way!

Mythology Bee Winners

The library held the 2009 Percy Jackson Mythology Bee on Friday, February 27. The contest was sponsored by Disney-Hyperion Books and Rick Riordan, author of the popular Percy Jackson and the Olympians book series.

All students in grades 6 – 8 were invited to participate by taking a qualifying pretest over basic mythology facts. The top twenty-five scoring students advanced to the actual contest held in the library.

After four rounds of questions the top ten students advanced to the final round. The overall winners were 1st place – Cole Borders, 2nd place – Michael Byrd, and 3rd place – Ethan Jones. In addition to the winners, those placing in the top ten were Abbie Hinton, Morgan Byrd, PJ Loftis, McKensey Ogletree, Alex Thompson, Alex Kemper, and Jake Ramsey.

Each of the 25 students received a pin for their efforts. The winners received certificates. Cole, for placing first, received a medal and entry into a drawing for other prizes, including a trip to Greece.

A special thanks to Mrs. Susie Sloan for her scorekeeping skills. Her help was greatly needed and appreciated.

Nashville Sounds Reading Club

WHAT IS IT?

A reading incentive program for students sponsored by our library and the Nashville Sounds Baseball Organization.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Students must read two books over the course of the next few weeks and complete a one page, hand-written summary of each. The books must be at least 100 pages in length. Students are rewarded with prizes for this effort.

Mythology Bee To Be Held

A first for WMS, our students will be able to participate in a mythology bee. The Percy Jackson Mythology Bee is being coordinated by the library and sponsored by Hyperion Books, publisher of the Percy Jackson book series. The contest will be held in February.

Interested students in grades 6 - 9 have taken a short written quiz over basic mythology. The nine highest scoring entries from each grade will become actual participants in the bee. Our book fair has been delayed one day because we were all out of school yesterday due to an unexpected snow day. I can't say that it wasn't a nice surprise. Of course, it would have been even nicer with some actual snow on the ground.

Our new fair start date is now Thursday, December 4. All other dates will remain the same.

New to this year's fair is a program called One for Books. For each donation of $1.00 Scholastic will donate a book to a charitable children's organization. Plus, our school receives free books for participating in the program.

Living Literature Team Gets Started

November is here and at WMS it can be a hectic time for many students, what with all the basketball games and club activities that are ongoing. One group keeping busy is our school's living literature team. This group of Junior Beta students is at work on their new scene for the upcoming Tennessee Junior Beta Club Convention. The convention, as usual, will be held at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. Last year's group placed third at state and later won the national contest for their depiction of The Tale of Despereaux. And while I can't tell you just yet the book they will be recreating this time I can say that it looks to be another promising year for our group (knock on wood).

Book Fair Planned for WMS

The library will be sponsoring a Scholastic Book Fair December 3 – December 12. With Christmas just around the corner this provides a good time to pick up a gift or two for the reader(s) in your family and help out our library at the same time. Our library will receive 30% profit if our fair sales total more than $3,000 and 25% profit if sales are more than $1,800.
To better accommodate our parents there will be two Family Nights during this year’s fair. These will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, December 9 and 10 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. As usual, there will be drawings for door prizes following these nights. Any student visiting the book fair during a Family Night event may register.

Living Lit Team Wins National Competition

Congratulations to our school's Living Literature Team for their first place finish at this year's Junior Beta Club National Convention held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina June 13-17. The team had placed third on the state level in November for their depiction of The Tale of Despereaux and were then invited to participate at the national level. After some improvements were made to the scene by Ms. Susan Raby, Mr. David Custer, Mr. Tim Copeland, and others the team was able to secure the top prize. Summer Is Here!!!

Summer is finally here. If you're looking for activities to keep your child educationally stimulated during June and July check out what's happening at the Hendersonville Public Library. Thursday nights at the HPL are just for teens. Starting at 6:00, come in for games, fun, prizes, and, of course, food.

May 29th Legends and Mysteries: Learn about the great legends and mysteries of our time, go on an Indiana Jones-themed treasure hunt, and make your own crop circles.

June 5th Globe Noshing: Cooking demonstrations and taste tests of international cuisine. There will also be a "no-cook cook off" for best and worst recipes made from the ingredients we have on hand.

June 19th Vampires and the Women Who Love Them: Come for a discussion of Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series, gush about the upcoming movie, have some of Bella's lasagna, and play the "Find Edward" game.

June 26th Anime Mania: Bring some anime to vote on and watch and hang out with other popcorn eating, soda sipping anime fans.

July 3rd Scribblers: Creative writers, bring your poems, stories, and songs for a night of sharing and critiquing.

Jule 10th Chocolate Olympics: Celebrate the wonder that is chocolate by competing in four events: Chocolate Talk, Candy Bar ID, M&M Gymnastics, and Chocolate Chip Archery. Oh, and prepare to get messy.

Today we held the first ever Battle of the Books at W.M.S. Based on what I witnessed and overheard of others it was a lot of fun and a big success. I can't wait until next year's battle rolls around.

Before conrgratulating the winners I want to send out a very special "thank you" to Mrs. Gail Eller. Mrs. Gail was our scorekeeper during each of the games and was a big help in keeping things on track. Mrs. Gail was my 3rd grade teacher, former co-worker, and library mentor and she is always willing to volunteer whenever she's called. Thanks again, Mrs. Gail.

Our 5th/6th grade winning team was team 4. This group of talented readers consisted of Michael Byrd, Jessica Gregory, Luke Hall, Racheal Herschberger, and Abbie Hinton.

The erudite group winning the 7th/8th grade battle was comprised of Amber Hartman, Kristen Ray, Julian Lamkin, Ashley Tuttle, and Ren Creasy.

Congratulations to these and all the participants for a job well-done.

Spring Book Fair

Our spring book fair has ended. Considering we were only open 3 1/2 days it did quite well. Thank you to all those who shopped with us. The library profitted approximately $350 from this fair. Our family night winners were 7th-grader Chloe Garrison and Ms. Angie Graves.

Nashville Sounds Trip

I want to thank each of the students who attended the field trip to see the Sounds' baseball game on May 5. Their behavior was excellent and it was a pleasure to escort them during this fun trip. I think the only bad thing to come of the day was the sunburn some of us were fortunate enough to receive.

Living Lit. Team to Visit Performance Studios

The W.M.S. Junior Beta Club's Living Literature team will visit Performance Studios' costume showroom next week in downtown Nashville to possibly choose a wardrobe for the upcoming contest at the National Beta Convention in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The team earned an invitation to compete at the national level after placing third in the state contest depicting a scene from the 2004 Newbery winner, The Tale of Despereaux. Ms. Raby, our art teacher, has been hard at work tweaking our scene's backdrop, while Mr. David Custer has been helping construct the support frame. Prior to going on the road with their scene the team will stage a viewing for all the students at WMS during Living Art Day.

Spring Book Fair Is On It's Way

Our spring book fair is officially slated for May 5 - 9. However, the cases of books usually arrive a few days in advance, so we'll open the fair just as soon as the books arrive and we can get them set up. Our Family night will be Wednesday, May 7 from 3:00 - 6:00. Those visiting on Family Night will be entered into a drawing for some free goodies. Unfortunately, this is not the 1/2 price fair, but you should still be able to find some great books at pretty good prices. Hope to see you there!!!

Countdown to Nashville Sounds Field Trip

Several of our students will be attending a field trip a week from today on Monday, May 5 to watch the Nashville Sounds play ball. These students earned this trip by participating in our recent reading program. Students going on the trip will need to bring money to spend at the concession stands. I would suggest at least $10. Sounds Program to End Soon

This Thursday will be the last day you will be able to turn in book forms/summaries and be eligible for the free ticket to the Sounds game. Each student wishing to attend the game needs to turn in at least 2 completed forms and summaries. I will be open late Thursday night (until 6:30ish) so you may drop them off until that time. After Thursday, the only prizes you can win will be the coupons for the restaurants and the book store.

WMS Receives Additional Funds

I am very pleased to announce that our library was one of a handful in the county to receive an additional $5,000 to spend on materials. This was a huge, and very appreciated, surprise! With this we were able to purchase one new Dell computer and a bunch of new books. We spent approximately $1,000 on our fiction section and the rest, about $3,300, on non-fiction books. Wow!!!
