New Book Clubs Announced

The library is pleased to announce the formation of three new book clubs at WMS.  There will be one for each grade, but participation is very limited so hurry and stop by the library to sign up if you're interested in joining.  Students will meet twice weekly during exploratory time to discuss a common book.  The goal is to cover two books prior to Christmas break, the first of which will be something within the horror/mystery genre.  The library will supply the books.  There will be activities done along the way and an end-of-the-book party for each.

For more information, please stop by and see me.

Below are the first of the two books to be read in each club:

8th Grade
And Then There Were None by Agatha Christie

7th Grade
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs

6th Grade
Wait Till Helen Comes by Mary Downing Hahn

Don't Get Caught. On Second Thought...DO GET CAUGHT!!!

I am pleased to announce the return of our school's "Get Caught Reading" program.  We all know just how important reading is to a student's overall success.  To encourage and promote as much recreational reading as possible, our staffulty is on the lookout for those students who sneak in moments of free time to read during their busy school day.

If a student is caught reading (at a time when they are not being required to read), teachers are asked to snap a quick pic of the student in action and submit it to the library.  Captured students will receive a goody bag of treats and school coupons and have his/her picture posted to this blog.

So, let's get started.  On your mark...get set...GET CAUGHT!
