It's Almost Time for Some Prizes

I'm so happy so many of you are checking in on our library Google classroom. I thought I would have a contest, of sorts, to reward this participation. At the end of each Wit and Wisdom module (roughly nine weeks), the library will have a drawing for a prize. Prizes will be related somehow to the theme and/or books of the module. For each assignment you complete (and not just mark as done), your name will be entered into the drawing. The more you do, the more times your name is entered. The contest is for students of WMS.

To see the prizes being given, check the Google Library Class for your grade!

Well, welcome back, everyone!  It seems like forever since I've seen you all.  I know you're excited to be back at school and able to see your friends.  I know I missed seeing all your faces in April and May.  I hope you had a great summer!

The first couple weeks of school I will be doing an inventory of our collection, so if you still have a book out from the spring please get it to me the next time you're at school.  If you are now a virtual student, just have mom or dad drop it off at the school one day at their earliest convenience.  There are, of course, no fines for these books.

To check and see if you still have out a book and the title of it, please log in to your library account on OPAC.  The instructions for doing so are in the upper right corner of the OPAC page once you click on 'log in'.

To close, if you have not joined the library Google classroom for your grade, please email me for the class code or check with a teacher in your grade.

Again, welcome back!  Here's to a great, albeit unusual, year!!!

A Big Thanks To...

We are now well into our final nine weeks period for the year and, in case I forget during the business of these last weeks, I want to acknowledge our student library workers.  These girls have done a terrific job of assisting me in the library this year.  So, thank you, girls!  If you are interested in being a library worker next year, please stop by and let me know.

Welcome back to another great year at WMS. We're already in full swing here and excited about all the things the rest of the year will hold. I encourage you to stop by and see me as often as you are able. We have lots of great books just waiting for you.

Tomorrow, Friday, August 16, beginning with our sixth graders, ELA classes will begin regularly visiting the library (once every two weeks or so). During this first visit they will receive a library information sheet which has our rules and procedures for checking out books, etc. Parents, please take a moment to look over this should you see it.

Now, allow me to announce our student workers for the year...8th Graders Anna Creasy and Macy Park and 7th graders Tayleigha Graham and Haleigh Webb.

Finally, if any of you participated in our Summer Reading Bingo please return those to the library for your prize. And keep in mind, those who participated will also be invited to our movie party at the end of the year.
